Behind the Scenes with the ‘New Moon’ Wolf Pack
You’re probably imagining that the Kiowa Gordon and Alex Meraz were amazingly handsome, that they were pleasantly polite and that they walked into our studio absolutely shirtless. Well you’re right on some things, but wrong on one for sure.
Quite to your disappointment (and some of the women in our office), Alex Meraz and Kiowa Gordon were fully clothed and ready for their interview with Hollywood Insider Maria Salas. The guys were literally whisked into our office and into the studio. I barely got a second to say ‘Hi.’ If there’s one thing these wolves are it’s fast. They’ve got interviews and events lined up back to back in their schedule.
Anyway, as I watched from a little corner in our studio, I was really impressed in how easy and laid back the guys were. They seemed like the ultimate calm, cool and collected gentlemen that you always want to get to know, but are a bit shy to approach them. As Maria prepped the guys for the interview, they seemed like naturals. They walked in, said their ‘hellos’ and got their microphones on. By this time, they’ve done this about a thousand times, but one more interview for Terra wouldn’t hurt.
Once the camera was on and Maria was off and away with the fans’ must-know questions, Kiowa Gordon looked a bit….hmm….tired. Unfortunately, Kiowa was sick with the flu. I guess it didn’t help that he doesn’t understand Spanish. Maria tries to keep the interview balanced by speaking to both our audiences in Spanish and English. Kiowa apparently didn’t understand the tactic too well, at least from my perspective. He tried to answer the questions, but seemed a little lost. I don’t blame him. He was sick. When I’m sick, I don’t want to do anything. Kudos to Kiowa for keeping his smile up while fighting the flu! Hope he feels better soon.
As for Alex Meraz, he was quite the opposite. Alex, who happens to be Mexican or half-Mexican, was so comfortable he even took his shoe off to show his tattoo. Now that is really comfortable. He was all smiles! Very nice, sweet and professional. I’ll have you know that I don’t say that about many people. Alex gave us a few answers in Spanish and at times translated some of the questions when Kiowa got that awkward, confused look. Good Latin points for Alex in my book!
Overall, the guys were pretty standard. They weren’t divos or drama kings. They came in and did their jobs. You can really tell that they are friends and not frenemies, like some celebrities today. The boys even gave a sly joke about the recent drama over a photo of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart holding hands. I’m not sure if anyone caught it, but I certainly did.
