Sammy Sosa bleached skin and debuts as a white man
Can We Please Talk About Sammy Sosa?
It's not vitiligo or side-effects from too many steroids. And our eyes are not deceiving us. Dominican baseball legend Sammy Sosa made his debut as a white man at last week's Latin Grammy Awards and we couldn't be more confused. The Chicago Tribune spoke to a Cubs employee and friend of Sosa, who claims the athlete's change in skin pigmentation is simply a result of a beauty treatment:
"He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin," [Rebecca] Polihronis said. "Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of (the photo appearance) is just the lighting. "He is in the middle of doing a cleansing process to his skin. The picture is deceiving. He said, 'If you saw me in person, you would be surprised. When you see me in person, it is not going to seem like the picture...He was doing a dermatological skin process after years and years (of playing baseball) in the sun," Polihronis said. "It did come out looking weird (in the picture)."
We know that "skin rejuvenation" is a vague term that could refer to any number of treatments. And it could certainly be true that he was simply trying to correct hyper pigmentation spots on his skin through a skin lightening treatment that went a bit awry. It's just that when you add the green contacts and slicked hair on top of the extremely light skin, we can't help but worry that Sosa is having some sort of identity crisis. We're worried that the white skin was the goal, and not just some freaky accident.
What do you think about Sosa's transformation? Do you think it's simply the result of a common beauty treatment and we shouldn't worry about it? Or do you think deeper, racial issues are at play? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Sera que tu Juana eres la esposa? who cares? pues muchos por la simple razon que estas personas que buscanb la fama en algun momento se vuelven idolos de jovenes que aman el deporte y es muy triste ver que un ser humano no se quiera por lo que es. Lo bueno es que de todo sale alguna leccion y la leccion aca es que el dinero no hace a la gente, si poco te quieres a ti mismo, ni con dinero te amaras, claro ejemplo el Senor Sammy Sosa. a nadie le importa lo que cada cual decida hacer con su cuerpo, se llame cirugia plastica, blanqueado de la piel o lo ue sea, eso no es problema de nadie solo del afectado y su familia, metanse en sus problemas y dejen vivir a los demas

ah.....look its his body and life...i could care less if he turns blue...should it matter that he got to that color..?
he doesnt look good for one...which is my opinion...
but its his problem not ours....let him deal with his own issues.....

i don't know what type of beauty treatment this is but he doesn't look good. i'm not sure what his age is but identity issues are something i associate with teenagers not men with a wife and kids. he may have a complex because i don't see the need for green contacts since he doesn't appear to have a need for glasses on the field. i believe seeing a psychologist would be a good idea. somenone needs to show him these pictures and tell him to examine his conduct.

For those who don't realize but most Caucasians hate their appearance and some will actually confess it. I've encountered two who did. Why do you think they get tans, plump their lips, perm their hair, and get butt implants....HELLO!!!!!! I love my brown skin which is a natural sunscreen and when I age I won't have crows feet, liver spots, horrible veins showing, and will look 10-20 yrs younger than my actual age! We age gracefully and don't have to worry about implants and all of the other junk society says we need. Sammy looks more attractive and striking in his natural pigment. And for all the Latinos, some Caucasians want to be Latin! Open your eyes and observe!

parece una estatua de cera....que lastima que tenga la necesidad de dejar de ser quien es....no creo que haya sido un freak accident, pienso que si quiso verse mas blanco, alisarse el cabello, y cambiarse el color de sus ojos, looks like he put a lot of effort into it but in my opinion it was not a success.

la despigmentacion quimica de la piel por mas seguro que sea trae
serios trastornos en la salud a la larga, sin contar que no puede estar
bajo el sol porque puede resultar con los problemas como un cancer en la piel
ya que la proteccion natural desaparece, pero recordemos que el organo mas
grande es la piel, la que protege nuestro cuepo de muchass enfermedades
el ser trtade de esa forma nos deja vulnerable a virus y otras enfermedades de
la piel que regularmente elimina con el desecho de las toxinas ahora es mas
facil que ingresen, estetica y vanidad bueno hasta donde podemos llegar a la muerte
temprana como Michaerl Jackosn.

Para salir de las dudas Samy es gay ha hecho algo con su naris de chata y usa algo para blanquerse. Eso no se consigue con crema sino con pildoras. Cada quien sabe lo que hace con su cuerpo. We have no right to judge him. He is fighting his own problem, his innerself.

No es nada de sorprenderse, la mayoria de las personas no estan satisfechas como lucen, las americanas quieren parecer afro-americanas poniendose labios mas gruesos, nalgas mas grandes, las chinas se agrandan los ojos, los negros se quieren hacer blancos...etc. poco a poco la gente deja de ser original para terminar siendo otro/a.
