Honesty and Reality..

 I have a great deal of respect for him. I am an African American woman, born in Miami and Evangelical, not Catholic, but whatever he decides I wholeheartedly love, respect and support him. He clearly loves her and has NOT walked denied his love her.

Lo peor de todo es que es vieja y fea. La forma en que sucedio es lo que no esta bien, ALberto Cutie debio dejar la iglesia antes de que llegara hasta ese punto todo. En el momento que el vio que estaba ya sintiendo deseos de estar intimamente con esa mujer ahi debio cortar el sacerdocio. Ella tiene igual o mas culpa que el, puesto que ella sabia que el era un Padre de iglesia CARAJO, habiendo tantos hombres solteros y hasta mas buenmozos en MIAMI, tener que caer con el pobre PADRE ALBERTO. Y lo peor de todo es que el Padre ALberto, perdio su imagen, su credibilidad y su fama por una mujer que quien sabe si al a~no lo deja botao. Quien sabe si lo que a ella le gustaba de el es que fuera Padre y que fuera una relacion prohibida.

He has helped a lot of people and this incident has only shown that he is human after all. Father Alberto Cutie is NO TED HAGGARD!! get that across your thick skulls. The Catholic church should do what the other lithurgical churches (lutheran, orthodox, episcopal, anglican) have done for years ...............  ALLOW THEIR PRIESTS TO MARRY AND HAVE A FAMILY OF THEIR OWN.

what an ignorant question! but blatantly speaking, of all masses the ignorant concensus is probably following father alberto and not following Jesus. He's a priest, a talented man with a lot of charisma, people like him for his contribution to society. He fell in love with a women, and bare in mind there are priests who molest children and are then secretly transferred out... So it's wrong to kick Father Alberto out for making out with a woman but alright for other priests to molest children? The other religions are not that behind! they just censor more things.

Maggie Rodriguez Sucks!

First, Father Alberto,

There are SO mony places that can use a man of faith such as him... Some Episcopal or evangelical is going to have a great gain and the Catholic church will simply suffer a huge loss. I don't think they care that much anyway.

As for Maggie Rodriguez in this interview.... What a STIFF! Is she on the Catholic interrogation team?? A monkey could have read questions off a page with more interest, involvement and even compassion!

Good ol' Albert should've saved himself for a better interview. Heck, Oprah could've done a whole show around the subject and shown compassion for someone struggling with what should NOT be a struggle. It only is one because of MAN MADE rules!

Kudos Maggie Rodriguez - very objective

Kudos to Maggie Rodriguez, bien hecho, nice interview, objective and very proud of you, watch you every morning.  Padre Alberto, celibacy is a great commitment, but when one is tempted to do what is not correct is better to say no! Especially when you are a role model and a shepard to many feligreses.  Priesthood is not for everybody, it's a calling that also can be shorten by temptations around it.  I think he has seen the movie "El Crimen del Padre Amaro" and that should have been a RED FLAG.  There is an old movie (dont know the name) but it's about how Jesus Christ was tempted by Mary Magdalene to have sexual relations - it was a fiction movie though.

Que NO engane a la Iglesia CAtholica!  Que no SEa otRo Sacerdote mas que Decepciona a la Ya Tambaleante Igleasia, porque como esta el Mundo, pues lo que necesitamos (catolicos) son honrados sacerdotes, es todo.  It's Understandable that he is human and he will err like all of us, BUT, Dont DEceive your Parishioners, Dont DEceive the CAtholic Churc, Dont Become just another statistic priest that DEceives the stumbling Catholic church.  All we need (catholics) is honest priests, that's all.  Si no puede con el toro, entonces que no lo toree.  If you Can't do the TASK, then dont volunteer.

To be or to leave

You guys do realize that Father Cutie broke 2 rules; celibacy and relations with a divorced woman. In the eyes of the Catholic church, this woman is still married. I don't beleive he will jump to the Evangelical bandwagon. If Father Cutie changes denomination it will certainly be a lithurgical church (Episcopal, Anglican, Orthodox, Lutheran) because it more or less follows the same sacraments and traditions as the Catholic church.  But more importantly this can cause an exodus of believers to the church that he chooses. Sure there will be some people that will follow Father Cutie because of his charisma, but most people would leave because other denominations allow priests to married and divorced individuals to remarry.

Tambien puede ser Diacono y no sacerdote, entonces Si puede casarse y tener familia y estar involucrado en la iglesia catolica, pero como diacono y no como sacerdote.  He could becomo a Diacono and give up priesthood for the catholic church.  Then, he can get married, have a family and still be involved in the catholic church as a Diacono but not a priest anymore.

WOW i was shocked to see him in these photos. He did a Ross "I was on a brake."

I met him in 2001 in CA. He is very charismatic, smart, fun, and handsome.

I know he is a priest but he is also human and a man. We catholics sometimes see them as someone

who is saint like instead of keeping in mind that they are human just like us. With like and dislikes, want and desires. So he found love, So have I and i could never deny it to anyone. Good for him, i just hope we dont loose him as a devoted christian. NOW we all make NO NO's I guess this is his, he accepts it, dosent deny it like others do untill the lawsuit or the racy video's come out, so he is honest.

We will trully see who follows Jesus and who follows the priests.

Ojala Dios le de la sabiduria al Padre Alberto de saber elejir. Yo no confiaria en esa persona que lo sedujo sabiendo el era un sacerdote. Es evidente el padre es fisicamente atractivo pero un buen Catolico sabe respetar el echo de que es un hombre esta consagrado a Dios y lo debe ver como tal. Si esa sra hubiese respetado a Dios y al Padre se hubiese alejado de la vida del Padre.

Solo Dios es quien puedo juzgar a cualquier hombre: El tambien perdona todo. Mi humilde opinion es que lo que hizo no es lo correcto, pero tambien es un humano como todos cometemos errores.pecados. Lo poco que se de el, yo soy de la Iglesia St. Patricks y oia miza que dabe el padre algunas veces, y siempre me ayuda. Tambien se que en la communidad hispana es admirado mucho y su carrera de servicio por 22 años. No estoy decuardo como sucedio todo, pero la vida no es perfecta, y solo sabe Dios porque. No es mi derecho juzgarlo pero siempre lo admirade por la buena person que es, un hombre de Dios.

 I think over the years Padre Alberto has thought more of himself and his desires than his church.  He is now a successful television and radio personality, a type of celebrity.  Padre Alberto does not love this woman enough to marry her.  I think he wanted a fling and trusted her to be discreet.  He is insincere and dishonest.  He had the opportunity to do the right thing, but did not.  He could have been honest two years ago, but was not.  He could have been honest in February when the photos were taken, but instead he remained silent.  He thought he could get away with.   He has been forced to come forward.  This is not the behavior of a true spiritual man of God.  He is a fraud.

La vida se vive solo un vez, que siga su vocacion tambien su amor, la iglesia es muy hipocrita, y solo hizo esa ley para proteger sus intereses, nadie sabe lo que va a pasar en el futuro, por eso no se deberia obligar a una persona a firmar y condenarse a un celibato. Father Alberto needs to have more respect for his church.  He knew what the rules were.  He is not going to marry this woman.  When he was interviewed he appeared to avoid the marriage question.  If he loved her he would have already made the desicion to leave the church.  You don't put the woman you love on hold, while you pray about it.  He is full of it.  He is playing the media and public opinion, because he wants to stay in the church.

Whoever is free of sins, throw the first stone...This is what happens when the catholic church demands celibacy. Why can't they allow priests to marry and serve as an example of what a "healthy" family relationship should be?
